The Humble Grape

Grapes, people have a lot of use for this little purple berry. It has been with us since the dawn of civilization, been grown throughout our history, and is used for a variety of things. From being just a regular fruit that you can consume immediately after picked from its vines, to fermenting the grapes to produce wine; from drying it to make raisins, to being an ingredient in the kitchen. No wonder this fruit really is very versatile, and a very healthy fruit as well.
Grapes are rich in vitamins, there are rumors saying that the darker the color of the grapes, the higher the nutritional value it has. Well that is just hoax, for whatever color of the grape is, you will still get the same nutritional value. They are all rich and contain the same amount of vitamins C, B6, B1, B2, Potassium and other healthy nutrients. That makes them really suitable and perfect for creating liquor.
Grape is the very first fruit to be used as wine. And that is because of the natural chemical balance of grapes. Meaning they can ferment without the help of sugar, acids, enzymes or other nutrients. This makes wine easy to produce. Just add yeast to the crushed grapes, and then let time and yeast do its job to consume the natural sugars that can be found on grapes, and then turn it into alcohol.
Grape wine is said to help reduce the risk of having cardiovascular diseases. But that doesn’t mean that you can go ahead and drink wine as much as you want, thinking that it’s just wine and it is a healthy kind of alcohol. Well that is where you are wrong, not because grape wine can help reduce the risk of having cardiovascular disease means you can help yourself with wine. Wine is still alcohol, even though there are studies proving that it is good for the health, too much of the good thing is still bad for ones health. And experts say that you should only take moderate amount.
And besides, there are still other ways of keeping your healthy aside from drinking wine. And you can do that by eating and having a very healthy lifestyle. That includes eating fruits and veggies, and having plenty of exercise.
