Breast Cancer Awareness

One of the leading causes of death in women worldwide is breast cancer. In some cases, even men can also acquire this dreaded disease. Most people who have a developing cancer are not aware until it is already full grown. Sadly, a lot of people have very little knowledge about cancer. Some people on the other hand are misinformed or have misconceptions about the killer disease.
It is important that people become aware of what breast cancer patients go through. Not only do they have full understanding of the disease but they will be able to protect themselves from it as well.
Women all over the world are encouraged to perform a self examination of their breast regularly. This is because eighty percent of breast cancer is discovered due to a lump in the breast or near the armpit. American women have the highest rate of breast cancer in the world. Some experts say that it is mainly due to the lifestyle which makes them more susceptible to the disease. But it doesn’t mean that if you live away from the US, you will have a lower chance of getting cancer.
In a study, it was discovered that breasts of women in urban areas are glandular. This means that women living a fast paced urban lifestyle are more four times more likely to suffer cancer. Researchers say that the fast-paced lifestyle of women living in the city contributes a lot to the development of cancer.
A lot of people simply ignore the facts about cancer. They often think that it is highly unlikely for them to develop cancer. But most people already suffering from cancer found out they have the disease when it was already too late. Therefore, it is vital for every person to be educated with the right knowledge in order to somehow lessen the risk before it’s too late.
